Musket Cove

SURFACE PATTERN DESIGN & CREATIVE DIRECTION

I recently had the pleasure of working with Musket Cove Resort on a custom surface pattern for their uniform set, this is currently being manufactured & this project will be updated with photography of the finalised uniform once complete.

When designing the surface pattern the clients briefed in a ‘vintage aloha print’ style with iconography that covered all things that are meaningful to the family owned resort and it’s history. I illustrated and created a textile pattern that would flow seamlessly across any size or length of fabric. This pattern was then used across a uniform set I provided creative direction and design across.

To the left is a moodboard we’ve compiled around for the retro-contemporary visual direction Musket Cove is aiming to move in.

It utilises some of the themes the resort is already drawn to, whilst elevating the brand identity and giving the overall look & feel a more cohesive look to center future decisions around.

This is helpful to have in mind when we design a textile print for a brand as it should fit within where the identity intends to go. For Musket Cove we envision the use of warm natural textiles and fibres, inspired by the landscape and handicraft of Fiji, with lush tropical greenery throughout and pops of nostalgic retro style design features.
