The strength of a Matriarch I know well. It is resilience, unwavering, it lives in the bones of the women of my whanau. Women that bore children and women that lost them, women who are the life force, the bread and butter, the glue that holds others together. Women that fix what was once broken, who take the high road, who protect their own. Women that hold others up, who teach, who laugh loudly, speak unapologetically, who move through a room with intent, eyes fixed, shoulders back, heart on their sleeve. Yes the strength of a Matriarch I know well. Born by one, raised by them, becoming one myself.
